BACKGROUND:

The Women’s Business Chamber of Uruguay, CEMU, is formed due to the intense activity women in the country are increasingly carrying out in the form of micro, small, medium and large undertakings. These women are committed with the progress and economic renovation of Uruguay, both for the internal as for, in some cases, the external market.

These enterprising women, as a group, have common needs and share interests in general, which are considered better as a whole when presented together, through CEMU.

OUR MISSION:

CEMU’s mission is the creation of an area where the businesswomen’s needs and interests may be expressed. An area where the ties of true solidarity between all members are encouraged, in order to accomplish the business, commercial and professional objectives, in the pursuit of the country’s economic growth, projecting, eventually, their action in the political sphere.

SERVICES

With CEMU, the businesswoman counts with access to updated sources of information and exhaustive data bases, both locally and internationally, among other benefits.

CEMU encourages the agile interrelationship between the different sectors, promoting additional incentives for the increased development of its associates’ companies.

Through its relationship with public and private teaching institutions, forums, conferences, training and carreer plans shall be carried out, encouraging continuous learning, case studies and the exchange of experiences being the primary method.

OBJECTIVES

The most outstanding objective is CEMU’s pedagogical task, which it will develop with the new generations, giving talks and motivating young Uruguayan women to study and be enterprising. In a globalized world, where through excellence one is able to compete and win, the Uruguayan woman has a fundamental role.
